WMV Special: Love is In the House @ Story Hill Fire House

Doors open at 6:00.

Peter Neumer serenades on solo sax from 6:00-7:00. Mix and mingle, get your drink from the bar and load up on tasty treats from My Family Roots Catering.

The J. Ryan Trio takes the stage from 7:00 – 8:30.

The J. Ryan Trio plays jazz standards and down home blues all with a soulful feel in and around Milwaukee with every last dollar raised from album sales and live performance going to charity.

Enjoy a night of romance-themed music at Story Hill Fire House – a new event space that is elegant, unique and historic.

Join us for a Sunday brunch-time performance, online! Enjoy a mimosa, Bloody Mary, coffee and/or brunch food of your choice from your own home while we provide a live music experience for you.

Audience members will be able to ask questions of the artist, converse with each other along the way (using Zoom chat), and see each other all in once place – almost as if we were at a concert together. Register through this Eventbrite link so that we know how to send you the Zoom invite.

Sunday Brunch Surprise Concert #1, Clues: 

In addition to being an original folk/rock artist born in Waukesha WI, the artist’s strongest musical influencers from the state are Jim Liban, Bill Camplin and Les Paul. Sunday’s musician also revealed that the first live concert he or she ever attended was a Boyz II Men show at the Bradley Center. AND, the first appearances made on stage by this performer were with a secular bell choir in grade school.

Sunday Brunch Surprise Concert #4 Clues: 

  • He is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  • He is a composer, teacher and performer (percussion).
  • His marimba and voice piece, The Power of Music, was used in the documentary In Pursuit of Passion.
  • He is on faculty at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), teaching music business, film scoring and percussion.
  • He performs marimba, vibraphone and piano at libraries, schools and private events and also plays vibraphone with jazz fusion duo.

PLUS, this time we have a special guest ALSO performing: Elevated Event Art’s Kristen Kieckhaefer will be producing live art throughout our concert.

WMV Special... All Jazzed Up: An Afternoon of Jazz, Rock and Soul Music @ Story Hill FireHouse

Join us for an afternoon with local singer Marcya Daneille and bassist Ben Titus as they perform music by Pat Benetar, Chaka Khan, Bruce Springsteen, Imagine Dragons, India Arie, The Beatles, Bill Withers and more.

Light snacks will be included, individually packaged. A cash bar will be available. More information on Story Hill FireHouse’s policies related to COVID-19 on their website.

Seating is limited, as the venue needs to be kept to 25% capacity.

More on the musicians:

Marcya Daneille

Marcya Daneille is a classically trained cross-genre singer with Jazz, Soul and Gospel influences, as well as a vocal teacher of contemporary and classical styles. Formerly of New York City where she worked as a session singer and maintained a private voice studio. Marcya has performed in NYC venues such as Miller Theater at Columbia University, Alice Tully Hall, Rose Hall (Jazz @ Lincoln Center), the Apollo Theater, Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar  and S.O.B.s. Midwest performances include Freedom Hall, the Art Institute of Chicago, Carleton College, Hancher Auditorium, the Racine Theater, Jazz in the Park, Summer Sizzle Jazz Festival, Main Street Festival, as well as a host of  private events. A few of Marcya’s most memorable moments on stage include performances with jazz phenoms Wycliffe Gordon, Aaron Diehl and Laurel Masse (former chanteuse with Manhattan Transfer), soul singers Gerald Levert and Vanessa Williams and opera legend Simon Estes.

Ben Titus

Ben Titus is an in-demand bassist, conductor, and educator in SE Wisconsin. Ben has shared the stage with jazz greats Eric Marienthal, James Moody, and Duffy Jackson. He conducts the pit orchestras for Slinger High School and West Bend High School, plays with various community theater groups, performs with the bands Big Spoon and Dear Karma, and is the Director of Instrumental Music at Milwaukee School of Languages. He is also an endorsing artist for GHS Strings, Skjold Design Guitars, and Gamechanger Audio.
