Music in general has power. Whether we’re watching a movie or streaming our favorite artist through headphones, music can change our mood, bring up fond memories and make us dance. While music is everywhere and in everything, there is something different about live concerts and
feeling the vibrations of the instruments in front of you. The sensations you feel can ultimately improve your health which makes us all feel better about not eating enough vegetables.
Attending “Love is In the House” at Story Hill Firehouse on February 13, 2020 gave me one of those happy well-being experiences. With performances by Peter Neumer and The J. Ryan Trio, the house was filled with beautiful notes as we enjoyed delectable treats from My Family Roots Catering. Neumer opened the show serenading with tunes from artists like Stevie Wonder and Al Green on soprano, alto and tenor saxophones. The J. Ryan Trio followed with soulful tones, giving us a full band experience.
In preparation for Valentine’s Day weekend, the night was romance themed, and Story Hill Fire House was the perfect setting for love to prosper. With candles on each table, the intimate and historic venue added to the feelings of delight.
The next time you’re looking for a ‘pick me up’, give live music a try. Wisconsin Music Ventures is happy to spread positive vibes and help create healthy minds through live performances.
